Opportunity: Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program ROUND 2
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program (CFI Program) is established under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (“Bipartisan Infrastructure Law” or “BIL”) with two grant categories, one for the Community Program and one for the Corridor Program.
Community Program grants are anticipated to lower greenhouse gas emissions while expanding or addressing deficiencies in access to charging or alternative fueling infrastructure. The grants are designed for projects on any public road or in other publicly accessible areas that are anticipated to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and enhance or address gaps in access to publicly available EV charging infrastructure, or hydrogen, propane, or natural gas fueling infrastructure.
Corridor Program grants are expected to support buildout of charging or alternative fueling infrastructure along designated AFCs. The grants are designed for contracts with a private entity for the acquisition and installation of publicly accessible EV charging infrastructure, or hydrogen, propane, or natural gas fueling infrastructure, directly related to vehicle charging or fueling along designated AFCs.
Amount:
Community Program grants: a total of up to $350M in CFI Program funds appropriated for FY 2024 and 2025 is available through this NOFO. Additional awards may be granted using FY 2025 NEVI 10 funds. The anticipated minimum award size is $500,000, with a statutory maximum award amount of $15M.
Corridor Program grants: a total of up to $350M in CFI Program funds appropriated for FY 2024 and 2025 is available through this NOFO for the Corridor Program. Additional awards may be provided using FY 2025 NEVI 10 funds. The anticipated minimum award size is $1 million, with no statutory maximum award size under this NOFO.
Reserved Funding Award: a total of up to $400M in FY 2024 CFI funding, along with up to $21.2M in FY 2023 and up to $100M in FY 2024 NEVI 10 funds, is available to fund applications previously submitted under the FY 2022/2023 CFI Round 1 NOFO that were not selected for awards.

For Community Grants only, a State or local authority with ownership of publicly accessible transportation facilities is also eligible
