Opportunity: Rural Energy for America (REAP) Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Program
Overview and Eligible: The Rural Business Cooperative Service (RBCS or the Agency), a Rural Development (RD) agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), announces a notice of funding opportunity under the Rural Energy for America (REAP) Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Program for fiscal year (FY) 2024. These grant funds will be made to provide technical assistance to Agricultural Producers and Rural Small Businesses applying to the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), with priority for applications that:
(a) assist the Agricultural Producers and Tribal entities,
(b) provide assistance to projects located in a Disadvantaged Community or a Distressed Community,
(c) support projects using Underutilized Renewable Energy Technologies (‘‘Underutilized Technologies’’), and/or support grant applications of $20,000 or less.
Eligible uses include the following:
Help rural agricultural producers and small business owners apply for REAP funding.
Provide information on how business owners and agricultural producers can improve the energy efficiency of their operations and use renewable energy technologies and resources.
Conduct required energy assessments and audits.
Help agricultural producers and small business owners with planning construction and development of renewable energy or energy efficiency projects.
Assist with the completion of environmental reports and/or documentation required for submittal of applications.
Amount: The award floor is $100,000 and the award ceiling is $500,000. There are 200 expected awards. The total estimated program funding is $16,000,000.
