OIA requests proposals for $3M Climate Change Funding Program under IRA in Puerto Rico
Eligibility applicants: territories, higher education institutions. Appications are due September 30, 2023

Opportunity: Climate change funding program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The funds are to provide technical assistance for climate change planning, mitigation, adaptation and resilience to the Puerto Rico government and educational institutions.
Eligible project/s should:
Aligns with or draw from existing Territory priorities documents
Collaborates with NGO, local community, and academia partners
Cross-cutting (e.g., addressing increased soil erosion due to drought also
provides benefits to coral reefs by reducing sedimentation and agricultural runoff)
Leverages existing federal funding or potential funding sources to maximize return on the federal investments
Amount: $3 million in funding is available (maximum $3 million)
Award Type: Grants
Eligible Applicants: Funding is only available to Puerto Rico government and educational institutions
Key Dates: Initial Application deadline is September 30, 2023, (5pm for electronic submission)
