NOAA Opens $260M for Fish Passage Restoration Projects

Opportunity: Restoring Fish Passage Through Barrier Removal & Restoring Tribal Priority Fish Passage Through Barrier Removal
Overview and Eligible Uses: These programs look to provide financial and technical assistance to fish passage through the removal of dams and other in-stream barriers for native migratory or sea-run fish. NOAA aims to support fish passage projects that rebuild sustainable fisheries, contribute to the conservation of threatened and endangered species, promotes resilient ecosystems and communities, particularly in underserved communities, and improves economic vitality. The Restoring Tribal Priority Fish Passage program additionally aims to bolster tribal capacity to participate in fish passage barrier removal projects while also enhancing tribal commercial, recreational, subsistence, and cultural practices and opportunities.
Amount: NOAA anticipates $175M in total program funding for the Restoring Fish Passage program. Typical award size will be $3M to $6M. NOAA anticipates $85M in total program funding for the Restoring Tribal Priority Fish Passage program. Typical award size will be $500k to $5M.
