Appalachian Regional Commission launches capacity building grants
Eligible applicants: nonprofits, local governments. Applications are due: August 19, 2022
Opportunity: READY Appalachia (Appalachian Regional Commission), which consists of four subprograms:
READY Nonprofits (launched today)
READY Local Development Districts (“coming this fall”)
READY Foundations (“coming soon”)
READY Local Governments (“coming soon”)
Overview and Eligible Uses: The program is a joint learning program and grant opportunity for organizations in the Appalachian region (you can check geographic eligibility here). Participants in each READY Appalachia learning track access 10 weeks of cohort-based learning, skill development, and grant opportunities to increase their capacity to solve pressing issues and create positive economic change. Learning tracks include thins like financial management, fundraising, human capital, programs & operations, and more.
Amount: Nonprofits who complete the READY Nonprofits program are eligible for a grant of up to $25,000. Funding opportunities for the other programs (LDDs, Foundations, Local Governments) have not yet been announced.

Eligible Applicants:
The program has 4 different tracks, each of which have different eligible applicants. All must be located within the 423 counties of the Appalachian region:
Nonprofits - Any registered nonprofit
Local Development Districts (Council of Governments, Regional Planning and Development Commissions, or Area Development Districts). You can find your local LDD on ARC’s full list of LDDs.
Foundations - specific eligibility TBD
Local Governments - specific eligibility TBD
