DOT Opens $6M Transportation Security Grant Opportunity
This program is newly established and funded for the first time under the Infrastructure Law.

Opportunity: Mobility, Access and Transportation Insecurity: Creating Links to Opportunity Program (DOT)
Overview and Eligible Uses: To establish a research demonstration program that explores solutions to transportation insecurity. Transportation insecurity is the condition in which people are unable to regularly and reliably satisfy the travel necessary to meet the needs of daily life. This Program will develop and implement demonstrations that augment public transportation to mitigate transportation insecurity, and subsequently evaluate outcomes and effectiveness.
Amount: $6M
Award Type: Competitive grant
Eligible Applicants:
Departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the Government, including Federal laboratories
Non-profit organizations
For-profit organizations
Institutions of higher education including research universities, particularly those with Minority Serving Institution status
Technical and community colleges
Key Dates: Applications are due on October 11, 2022.
