Opportunity: HUD Thriving Communities Technical Assistance (TCTA)
Overview and Eligible Uses: TCTA provides direct technical assistance to local government units to integrate and coordinate housing and transportation planning as spending from federal legislation reaches localities. Areas of assistance include land utilization, regulatory reform, preservation, and coordination between and among public entities.
The Thriving Communities TA program is part of an interagency initiative, “Thriving Communities Network”, involving HUD, DOT, DOE, Commerce, USDA, GSA, and EPA.
Amount: FY 2022 funding for TCTA is $5M.
Award Type: Technical assistance (i.e., direct engagement with TCTA partner organizations).
Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants are units of general local government, territories, and Tribes that expect to receive transportation funding. Jurisdictions with populations below 250,000 will receive priority consideration.
Key Dates: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with review beginning March 15, 2023. TA engagements are expected to begin in spring 2023.
