Opportunity: Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities Grant Program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities Grant Program (RTEPF) Grant Program is a new discretionary grants program aimed at funding projects that reduce port-related emissions from idling trucks, including the advancement of port electrification and improvements in port operations efficiency.
The primary goal of the RTEPF Grant Program is to coordinate and provide funding to test, evaluate, and deploy projects that reduce port-related emissions from idling trucks, including through the advancement of port electrification and improvements in efficiency, focusing on port operations, including heavy-duty commercial vehicles, and other related projects.
Amount: A total of up to $160 million will be available to RTEPF Grant Program awards under this NOFO; up to $80 million from FY 2022 funding and up to $80 million from FY 2023 funding. 35 awards are expected. No minimum or maximum amount per award has been set.
Award Type: cost-reimbursable grant agreements
Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants for RTEPF Grant Program funds are entities that 1) have authority over, operate, or utilize port facilities and/or intermodal port transfer facilities, 2) have authority over areas within or adjacent to ports and intermodal port transfer facilities, or 3) will test and/or evaluate technologies that reduce truck emissions at port facilities and/or intermodal port transfer facilities.
