EPA Opens Applications for $930K Decentralized Wastewater Improvement Grant

Overview and Eligible Uses: Projects selected under this solicitation should in some way improve, or work towards improving, regional coastal waters and/or build resilience to the impacts of climate change. This could include (but is not limited to): data systems related to decentralized wastewater, innovative finance mechanisms to update septic systems, commercial district wastewater planning, and evaluation of climate change impacts. It should be noted that projects do not necessarily need to be located near the coast to have an impact on coastal waters. Applicants should, however, be able to explain how their project has a nexus with coastal waters (e.g., by being upstream of them).
Amount: Up to 3 awards ranging between $310K-$465K, for a total of $930K. No matching funds are required.

Eligible Applicants: State, local, and tribal governments; institutions of higher education; nonprofit institutions and organizations; and interstate agencies in the Southeast New England Program (Rhode Island) area.
