EPA Opens Applications for $40M Columbia River Basin Restoration Program

Opportunity: Columbia River Basin Restoration Program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The EPA is seeking applications from entities that can improve water quality in the Columbia River Basin, through specific actions to reduce toxics, and/or increase public education and outreach. Grantees will act as Toxic Reduction Leads for these efforts. In this capacity they will develop comprehensive toxics reduction plans and policies, lead the implementation of these plans, and award and manage sub grants.
Activities must include one of the following: eliminating or reducing pollution, cleaning up contaminated sites, improving water quality, reducing runoff, protecting habitat, or promoting citizen engagement.
Grantees and their work will be part of the implementation of the Columbia River Basin Toxics Reduction Action Plan and the Lower Columbia River Estuary Plan - Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan and will support the EPA’s national goals for the Columbia River Basin.
Amount: Seven awards will be made worth $3M to $7M each, for a total of $40M in funding.

Eligible Applicants: State governments, tribal governments, regional water pollution control agencies and entities, local governments, nongovernmental non-profit entities, or soil and water conservation districts.
