EPA Opens $5M San Francisco Bay Water Quality Improvement Fund

Opportunity: FY 23 San Francisco Bay Water Quality Improvement Fund (SFBWQIF)
Overview and Eligible Uses: The SFBWQIF funds projects to improve water quality and restore aquatic habitat in the San Francisco Bay and its watersheds. IIJA funding prioritizes SFBWQIF projects that specifically promote climate resilience in underserved communities. Under this announcement, EPA will fund projects with positive environmental impacts in underserved communities facing climate change stressors in the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area.
Amount: A total of $5M is available under this announcement, with award sizes expected to be between $200k and $1M. EPA expects to make between 10 and 15 awards

Eligible Applicants: A wide range of entity types are eligible to apply, including: state, local, and Tribal governments; universities; non-profit organizations; regional water pollution control agencies and entities; and State coastal zone management agencies
