Opportunity: Southeast New England Program (SNEP) 2023 Stormwater and Natural Infrastructure Grant
Overview and Eligible Uses: This RFA specifically seeks to fund climate resilient infrastructure that promotes nature-based solutions (NBS), habitat restoration and protection to restore ecosystem services degraded by poor stormwater and development practices, as well as planning related to these topics. Projects may involve both planning and/or implementation, but planning must have a commitment to an implementation outcome.
The SNEP Strategic Plan lays out the three broad goals of working towards (1) a resilient ecosystem of safe and healthy waters, (2) thriving watersheds and natural lands, and (3) sustainable communities. To achieve those goals, the Plan suggests five priority actions of (1) increasing local capacity, (2) increasing available restoration/protection solutions, (3) ensuring diverse representation, (4) demonstrating ways to address common challenges, and (5) increasing local buy-in by working with community leaders. Grants funded through this RFA can be used to address any/all of the three goals using any/all of the five priority actions. Applicants must explain how their project fits within these elements of the SNEP’s Strategic Plan.
Amount: EPA expects to award up to six (6) cooperative agreements for activities under this RFA. The total estimated funding available for the awards under this competitive opportunity is up to $2,300,000, with individual awards between $400,000 and $600,000.
