EPA Opens $1.25M Southeast New England Program Opportunity to Advance Resilience Fund

Opportunity: EPA Southeast New England Program (SNEP) Opportunity to Advance Resilience (SOAR) Fund
Overview and Eligible Uses: SNEP’s mission is to “foster collaboration among regional partners across southeast New England's coastal watersheds to protect and restore water quality, ecological health, and diverse habitats.” SNEP geographic boundaries include south-facing coastal watersheds in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
The SOAR Fund aims to improve and support resilience among disadvantaged communities in the SNEP region amid the effects of climate change.
Projects funded by the SOAR Fund will align broadly with SNEP’s Five-Year Strategic Plan. Project categories eligible for funding include planning, implementation, outreach, training, and capacity building/staffing.
Amount: A total of $1.25M is available under this RFP, with projects ranging from $50k to $300k. EPA anticipates making 5-10 awards, with up to 3 awards of $300k each and the remaining funds for smaller awards.

Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants include state, Tribal, and local governments; public and private universities; nonprofit organizations; interstate agencies, and Tribal consortia.
