EPA announces $70M for Environmental Justice Government-to-Government Program

Opportunity: Environmental Justice Government-to-Government Program (EJG2G)
Overview and Eligible Uses: Through funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, the EPA is looking for projects that will support and/or create model state, tribal, local, and territorial government activities that lead to measurable environmental or public health results in communities disproportionately burdened by environmental harms and risks.
Specifically, applications submitted should address one of the following four broad categories:
Community-led air and other pollution monitoring, prevention, and remediation; investments in low- and zero-emission and resilient technologies and related infrastructure; workforce development that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollutants.
Mitigating climate and health risks from urban heat islands, extreme heat, wood heater emissions, and wildfire events
climate resiliency and adaptation
reducing indoor toxins and indoor air pollution
Amount: EPA anticipates awarding approximately 70 awards for a total of $70M under this announcement. The maximum award is $1M.

Eligible Applicants: partnerships between community-based nonprofit organizations and local governments/states; US Territories; Freely Associated States; Tribal governments in remote ares
