DOT Opens $86M Commercial Motor Vehicle High Priority Grants

Opportunity: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) High Priority - Innovative Technology Deployment Program (HP-ITD) and Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Program (HP-CMV)
Overview and Eligible Uses: The HP-ITD program aims to advance technological capability, deployment, and maintenance of intelligent transportation systems for commercial motor vehicles to promote safety and reduce costs associated with CMV operations. The HP-CMV program supports, enriches, and evaluates CMV safety programs and supports a range of activities to encourage CMV safety.
Amount: A total of $86,600,000 is available across the two programs. The maximum award size is $2,000,000. DOT anticipates approximately 35 awards for the HP-ITD program and 30 awards for the HP-CMV program.
Award Type: Grants and cooperative agreements
Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants for HP-ITD awards include states and U.S. territories. Eligible entities for HP-CMV awards include states and territories, local governments, Tribal governments, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations.
