Opportunity: Development of Fiscal Year 2025 Commercial Vehicle Safety Plans to Support National Safety Goals
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) aims to enhance motor carrier, commercial motor vehicle (CMV), and driver safety. This program promotes safe CMV transportation, reduces CMV crashes and fatalities, enforces safety laws and regulations, and improves statewide performance through targeted investments and setting performance goals.
MCSAP grants can be used for:
Driver and vehicle inspections
Traffic enforcement
Investigations
New entrant safety audits
CMV safety programs focusing on international commerce in border states
Full participation in PRISM or an acceptable alternative
Accurate, complete, timely, and corrected data
Public education and awareness
Other elements as prescribed by the FMCSA Administrator
Amount: Total Program Funding: $515,000,000. Award Ceiling: $53,500,000. Award Floor: $450,000. Expected Number of Awards: 56.
