DOT Opens $1.5B FY24 RAISE Program

Opportunity: FY24 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The RAISE Program supports planning and construction of surface transportation projects of local or regional significance. RAISE-supported projects improve safety; sustainability; quality of life; mobility and connectivity; economic competitiveness; state of good repair; partnership and collaboration; and innovation.
Examples of eligible project types include highway and bridge projects; public transportation; freight and passenger rail; port infrastructure; surface transportation projects at airports; intermodal projects; and projects to prevent stormwater runoff.
Amount: A total of $1.5B is available for this opportunity.
Planning grants: no minimum award size; the maximum award is $25M
Capital grants: the minimum award is $1M in rural areas and $5M in urban areas. the maximum award is $25M
Funding will be split evenly between rural and urban projects. At least $15M will go to projects in Areas of Persistent Poverty or Historically Disadvantaged Communities
