The BLM California Wildlife Program focuses on addressing the climate crisis, conserving biodiversity, and promoting sustainable public land management. Key goals include protecting wildlife habitats, improving migration connectivity, increasing resilience to climate change, and contributing to the conservation of 30% of lands and waters by 2030. The program collaborates with state agencies and diverse communities, including Indigenous and low-income groups, to advance conservation efforts while fostering economic opportunities. By leveraging advanced science and data, it restores critical habitats, monitors wildlife populations, and conducts ecosystem-level research. Additionally, it emphasizes public education and engagement to enhance stewardship and awareness of conservation successes and challenges.
Amount: DOI Bureau of Land Management anticipates awarding up to $1,000,000 for 10 awards.
