DOE releases new NOI on Efficient Building Codes grant program

Opportunity: Building Energy Codes: Resilient and Efficient Codes Implementation Program (DOE)
Overview and Eligible Uses: The program funds sustained, cost-effective implementation of updated building energy codes to save customers money on their energy bills. Specific eligibility includes:
State / regional partnerships that provide training and materials to design and construction professionals to meet updated building energy codes and improve implementation of and compliance with building energy codes;
Data collection on construction and codes implementation, including code pathways, performance metrics, and technologies used;
Plans for highly effective codes implementation, including measuring compliance;
Implementation support for needs in rural, suburban, and urban areas; and
Implementation of updates in energy codes for buildings.
Amount: Up to $225M

Eligible Applicants: States, state partnerships, and local governments (exact eligibility to be announced with launch of funding opportunity)
Key Dates: The DOE materials state two different timelines by which grant applications will open: “Fall 2022” and “End of 2022.” This Tracker will send an update when the full funding opportunity is released.
