Opportunity: Next Generation Cybersecurity Tools to Protect Clean Energy Infrastructure
Overview and Eligible: The Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) is providing funding to support the research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) of next generation tools to protect clean energy delivery infrastructure from cyber attacks. Topic areas include:
Enhancing forensic analysis of infected renewable energy field devices for rapid cyber attack source identification.
Addressing cyber threats to inverter-based resources, including wind, solar, and energy storage assets.
Improving communication security for Distributed Energy Resources and Aggregations to ensure operational stability.
Strengthening the cybersecurity of virtual power plants, facilitating secure operation and management of these systems.
Amount: CESER is allocating $30 million for new awards, expecting approximately 10 recipients with individual awards capped at $3 million.
