Opportunity: Denali Commission Program Grants
Overview and Eligible Uses: This program offers funding for rural infrastructure projects and workforce and economic development programs that benefit Alaska residents. Projects should generally improve community well being, connectivity, and improve access to and the quality of public services. Funding can cover projects in the following categories, and will cover projects in both the planning and implementation phases:
Transportation
Infrastructure
Energy
Facilities for Healthcare and Community Wellness.
Village Infrastructure Projects
Sanitation
Housing
Broadband
Economic Development
Workforce Development
Amount: $35,150,000 total, up to 60 awards issued worth between $20,000 and $2M. Individual project categories, listed above, have different award caps, which can be found in the Grants.gov listing.
Award Type: Cooperative agreement, competitive grant
Eligible Applicants:
Native American tribal organizations, both Federally recognized and non-recognized
Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
For profit organizations other than small businesses
State, county, city, or township governments
