Opportunity: WaterSMART Cooperative Watershed Management Program (CWMP) - Phase I for Fiscal Year 2025
Overview and Eligible Uses: This opportunity allows eligible entities to “develop a watershed group, complete watershed restoration planning activities, and design watershed management projects” to form local solutions addressing water management needs. Watershed groups are non-regulatory grassroots entities that address water availability, quality, and sustainable use.
Amount: Total funds awarded will depend on demand. Reclamation anticipates making 25 to 30 awards ranging from $10,000 to $300,000 each.
Award Type: Grants or cooperative agreements
Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants include states, Tribes, local and special districts, local governments, interstate organizations, nonprofits, and higher education institutions sponsoring watershed groups in 19 western states and U.S. territories.
