Opportunity: Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART Environmental Water Resources Projects
Overview and Eligible Uses: Reclamation’s WaterSMART Program aims to “stretch and secure water supplies for future generations.” Environmental Water Resources Projects provide funding for water conservation, management, and restoration projects that increase water reliability and provide environmental benefits.
This opportunity solicits applications for water conservation, management, infrastructure, restoration, and efficiency projects that save water and benefit ecological or watershed health in western states, Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories.
BIL provided $8.3B for Bureau of Reclamation water infrastructure projects over a period of five years.
Amount: Total funding under this opportunity depends on demand, but includes approximately $80M in BIL funding. Up to $3M is available per project, with total project costs no more than $6M. 20-40 awards are anticipated.

Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants include states, Indian Tribes, irrigation districts, water districts, water or power delivery authorities and their nonprofit conservation partners in 17 western states, Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, or
Puerto Rico.
