Overview and Eligible Uses:
The Wyoming (WY) Threatened and Endangered Species Program seeks to conserve and recover over 330 federally listed and over 2,700 Bureau sensitive animal and plant species and their habitat on public lands in collaboration with other BLM programs and partners. Eligible activities involve national outreach initiatives, tangible on-the-ground actions to improve species populations or reduce threats, and projects aligned with the program's strategic goals. These goals encompass conserving species, providing accurate species information, assessing threats, increasing public awareness, engaging youth and citizen scientists in monitoring efforts, and leveraging partnerships for biodiversity protection.
The Wyoming (WY) Wildlife Program seeks to improve the management of wildlife by overseeing activities dedicated to preserving functional wildlife habitats, executing restoration projects, and monitoring priority habitats and species across public lands. The Program utilizes science-based approaches aligned with land use plans to conserve biodiversity and maintain land health standards. Its focal points encompass habitat connectivity, climate change considerations, and collaborative efforts with various stakeholders including federal, state, tribal entities, and conservation partners. This program aims to fund projects focused on habitat restoration, partnerships with state and tribal agencies, climate impact assessments, inventory of wildlife species, regional restoration opportunities, and collaborations for wildlife conservation. It seeks to employ advanced geospatial data technologies for efficient collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The Wyoming (WY) Recreation and Visitor Services Program oversees a broad and complex set of recreation related programs that provide a multitude of recreation opportunities and experiences. These recreation resources and visitor services support strong local economies and public land conservation. Eligible funded activities include connecting with youth, tribes, and underserved communities to foster public lands stewardship, improving climate resiliency on public lands while enhancing outdoor recreation opportunities and activities, enhancing access to quality recreation opportunities for nature-deprived communities, identifying and remove outdoor recreation barriers and expand recreation opportunities for all, and providing an enhanced, more sustainable recreational experience by delivering up-to-date and engaging visitor information online and in person,

The issues the Program addresses include restoration, habitat fragmentation and degradation, drought resiliency, water availability, and aquatic invasive species. Eligible activities include contributing to the above-described Program core functions, combating climate change and habitat loss impacts to aquatic resources, restoring and connecting degraded aquatic resources, increasing ecosystem resistance, resilience, and adaptability to drought, wildfires, and floods, determining acceptable levels of hydrologic and ecological change given BLM management objectives, advancing inventory, assessment, and monitoring activities and tools, preventing the establishment and spread of invasive species, and increasing public knowledge of aquatic habitats on BLM managed lands, including with a targeted focus on communities of color, low-income families, and rural and indigenous communities.
The Wyoming (WY) Good Neighbor Authority (GNA) is intended to facilitate partnerships with states, counties, and federally recognized Indian tribes to plan and implement forest, rangeland, and watershed
restoration projects.
