Overview and Eligible Uses:
BLM California has an opportunity to work with partner organizations to assist in the following programs:
Rangeland Management Program: administers grazing for more than 155 million acres of public land. This includes, but is not limited to, such things as inventorying, controlling, and managing noxious weeds and invasive species; improving rangelands through grazing management, vegetation restoration treatments, and grazing management structures; and soil resource management.
Wildlife Program: focuses on ensuring self-sustaining populations and a natural abundance and diversity of wildlife on public lands for the enjoyment and use of present and future generations.
Plant Conservation and Restoration Management Program: improves the availability and use of locally adapted, genetically appropriate native seed for restoration
Amount: $1.3M total; 25 awards are anticipated, worth between $5,000 and $750,000
Award Type: Cooperative agreement
Eligible Applicants:
State, county, city, or township governments
Federally and non-Federally recognized Native American tribal organizations.
Private, public, and State controlled institutions of higher education
Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
Independent school districts
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Special district governments
Key Dates: Applications for the Forest and Woodlands and the Wildlife Programs are due April 14, 2023. Applications for the Plant Conservation program are due April 17, 2023
