Overview and Eligible Uses: The Bureau of Land Management Alaska Wildlife Program's main goal is to maintain self-sustaining populations and natural diversity of wildlife on public lands for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
The program aims to inventory and monitor important wildlife and habitats, identify opportunities for restoration, assess the success of conservation efforts, and increase the number of protected species meeting goals. It works with state agencies and tribal governments to reach wildlife population goals and conservation strategies, while partnering with local communities and organizations to improve recreational access and share science-based strategies for conservation through education and workshops.
Amount: Two awards are expected, ranging from $5,000 to $75,000, for a total of $100K

Private, Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Nonprofits other than institutions of higher education
