Bureau of Land Management Opens $500K for Oregon/Washington (ORWA) Rangeland Resource Management

Overview and Eligible Uses: The Bureau of Land Management Oregon/Washington (ORWA) Rangeland Management Program administers grazing for more than 155 million acres of public land. This includes, but is not limited to, such things as inventorying, controlling, and managing noxious weeds and invasive species; improving rangelands through grazing management, vegetation restoration treatments, and grazing management structures; and soil resource management.
Combatting climate change: Enhance land health through proper livestock grazing, invasive species control, and soil resource management to create climate-resilient landscapes.
Legacy disturbance restoration: Improve rangelands through on-the-ground projects, including vegetation restoration and grazing management structures.
Data-driven decision support: Prioritize data collection using common indicators and unbiased sampling methods for scientifically sound and legally defensible decisions on grazing, soil management, and invasive species control.
Amount: BLM anticipates granting 10 awards with a total funding of $500,000. The expected award amounts will range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $300,000.
