Bureau of Land Management Nevada opens $16.7M for Fuels Management and Community Fire Assistance Program

Opportunity: FY24 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management Nevada (NV) Fuels Management and Community Fire Assistance Program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The NOFO focuses on partnering with organizations to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires in local communities through fuels management and fire assistance programs. The goals include accomplishing fuels management on federal and non-federal land, implementing fire education and community action plans, conducting wildfire protection assessments, expanding local employment opportunities, and developing monitoring plans. This initiative aims to create resilient landscapes, fire-adapted communities, and job opportunities while addressing the effects of climate change.
Amount: $16,705,015 with an award floor of $500,000 and an award ceiling of $1,750,000.

Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants include:
City or township governments
Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
State governments
Private institutions of higher education
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
County governments
Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
Independent school districts
Special district governments
Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
