Bureau of Land Management Nevada Opens $2.6M for Plant Conservation and Restoration Management

Opportunity: FY24 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management Nevada (NV) Plant Conservation and Restoration Management
Overview and Eligible Uses: The NOFO from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) focuses on the conservation and restoration of native plant communities across more than 50 ecoregions on BLM-administered lands. The program aims to enhance the quantity, diversity, and effectiveness of native forbs and grasses for wildlife habitat restoration and post-wildfire rehabilitation.
Strategic goals include implementing the National Native Seed Strategy, developing genetically appropriate native plant material, assessing seed-based restoration techniques, collaborating with farmers and conservationists, supporting seed certification programs, inventorying and restoring rare plant species, expanding pollinator habitat, conducting public education programs, and database creation and management.
Specific emphasis is placed on protecting biodiversity, increasing resilience to climate change, engaging diverse communities, and utilizing science-based decision-making. The program recognizes the crucial role of native plants and communities as green infrastructure for sustaining healthy, biodiverse ecosystems, essential for ecosystem restoration and climate change mitigation.
Amount: $2,623,000 with an award floor of $150,000 and an award ceiling of $1,000,000.

Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
County governments
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Special district governments
