Bureau of Land Management Idaho Opens $600K in Grants for Two Funding Opportunities

IIJA Bureau of Land Management Idaho Youth Conservation Opportunities on Public Land
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Bureau of Land Management Idaho has an opportunity to work with partner organizations to assist in the following programs :
Recreation and Visitor Services Program: aims to enhance recreational opportunities, support local economies, and achieve social, economic, and environmental outcomes. Strategic goals include improving access to public lands and waters, enhancing recreational opportunities, collecting data on visitors and resources, improving visitor services and safety, improving trail systems, and engaging with diverse stakeholders and traditionally underserved populations. The program also aims to strengthen relationships with sovereign Tribal nations and provide training and education opportunities.
Youth Conservation Opportunities on Public Lands: Proposed projects within this funding opportunity notice will support the Civilian Climate Corps (CCC) and the Indian Youth Service Corps (IYSC) initiatives. The projects for the upcoming fiscal year include enhancing recreation opportunities through trail building, maintenance and restoration, and improvements to visitor and recreation facilities. There will also be a focus on habitat restoration and wildlife protection, as well as natural and cultural resource stewardship plans, resource inventories, historic research, and archaeological excavation. The preservation of cultural resources, seed collection for restoration of lands affected by natural disasters, and the reduction of wildfire risk to communities will also be priorities.
Amount: The Recreation and Visitor Services Program has a total estimated budget of $250,000, to be awarded to five recipients ranging from $5,000 to $150,000. The Youth Conservation program also has an estimated budget of $350,000, to be awarded to three recipients ranging from $50,000 to $250,000.
