Bureau of Land Management Arizona Opens $2.5M Rangeland and Aquatic Resource Management Programs

Opportunity: IIJA Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona Rangeland Resource Management program and Aquatic Resource Management program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Rangeland Management program administers grazing on public land by controlling invasive species, rangeland improvement activities, and soil resource management. With this announcement BLM seeks a range of projects, including projects that maintain land health and productivity, increase carbon sequestration, and creating resilient landscapes. Example projects include rangeland conservation and restoration, soil mapping, and developing ecological site descriptions.
The Aquatic Resources program aims to protect and restore riparian and wetland areas, habitats, and water resources. With this announcement, BLM Arizona seeks projects that contribute to core program functions, combat climate change and aquatic habitat loss, restore aquatic resources, and increase ecosystem resilience, among other priorities. Priority activities include habitat restoration/protection and data collection on wadeable streams and rivers and on riparian areas, floodplains, and wetlands.
Funded projects support programs authorized by IIJA and IRA.
Amount:
Rangeland Resource Management program: a total of $1M is available, with award sizes ranging from $10k to $500k
Aquatic Resource Management program: a total of $1.5M is available, with award sizes ranging from $10k to $980k
Award Type: Cooperative agreements
Eligible Applicants: A range of entity types are eligible to apply, including: state, tribal, special purpose, and local governments; housing authorities; school districts; nonprofit organizations; and higher education institutions
