BLM Oregon/Washington opens applications for Plant Conservation and Restoration Management Program

Opportunity: IIJA Bureau of Land Management ORWA Plant Conservation and Restoration Management
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Plant Conservation and Restoration Management Program seeks to improve the availability and use of locally adapted, genetically appropriate native seeds for restoration. Funded projects under this opportunity include but are not limited to activities such as:
Support habitat management efforts to restore habitat for keystone wildlife and pollinator and increase on-the-ground project work to reduce the threats to sensitive species in high-priority habitats.
Work with growers to continue to develop genetically appropriate native plant material.
Support studies and projects to improve the effectiveness of conservation-restoration efforts, increase the knowledge of the importance of native plant communities and pollinators, and increase understanding of rare plant biology and threats
Implement conservation actions for high-priority rare plant species
Monitor, protect, and restore habitat that supports more than 1,800 rare plant species.
Assist BLM programs
Expand public education programs and outreach on native plants and native plant communities
Amount: Awards will range between $5,000 and $500,000
Award Type: Cooperative Agreement
Eligible Applicants: State, County, City/Township, or Special district governments; Independent school districts; Private, Public, or State institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments or organizations; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Nonprofits, other than institutions of higher education
