Overview and Eligible Uses:
The Bureau of Land Management is seeking applicants to advance its Oregon/Washington (ORWA) Fuels Management and Community Fire Assistance programs by restoring and maintaining Fire Resilient Landscapes, creating Fire Adapted Communities, and Responding to Wildfire threats. This is to be accomplished by:
Planning and implementing strategies to protect communities and infrastructure and to enhance, restore or maintain forest and rangeland plant communities.
Promoting public understanding and facilitating citizen-driven efforts to reduce the threat and impact of wildfire.
Fostering and promoting fuels management and community assistance coordination, cooperation, and partnerships with other entities.
Planning and implementing effective fuels treatment strategies that ensure resilient landscapes, and help provide a safe and effective response to wildfire.
Coordination with other landowners and cooperators to ensure fuels treatments are planned and implemented across landscapes.
Enhance local and small business employment opportunities.
Amount: Individual awards will be for $50K to $750K, for a total of up to $4,000K in total funding

Eligible Applicants: State, County, Local, Native American tribal, and special district governments; Independent school districts; Public/Private Institutions of higher education; Public/ Indian housing authorities, Native American tribal organizations; and Nonprofits
