BLM Opens $5.4M for Nevada Plant Conservation and Restoration Management Program

Opportunity: Nevada Plant Conservation and Restoration Management Program
Overview and Eligible Uses: This program seeks to dramatically improve the availability and use of locally adapted, genetically appropriate native seed for use in restoring adaptive and resilient ecosystems. The program will continue to work with partners to increase the quantity, diversity, and effectiveness of native forbs and grasses for restoration of wildlife habitats and rehabilitation after wildfires. Projects should do one of the following:
Support habitat management efforts,
Work with growers to continue to develop genetically appropriate native plant material for use in habitat restoration and rehabilitation,
Support studies to improve the effectiveness of conservation restoration efforts,
Support pollinator studies and projects,
Implement conservation actions for high priority rare plant species,
Increase understanding of rare plant biology and threats,
Monitor, protect, and restore habitat that supports more than 1,800 rare plant species,
Expand public education programs and outreach on native plants.
Amount: $5,450,000 total, awarded to X grantees, with awards ranging from $40,000 to $750,000

Federally and non-Federally recognized Native American tribal organizations
Private, public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
Independent school districts
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Special district governments
