Opportunity: FY25 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management Headquarters (HQ) Threatened and Endangered Species Program
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Headquarters Threatened and Endangered Species Program is dedicated to conserving biodiversity, slowing species extinction, and enhancing climate resilience. This program supports projects that protect federally-listed, Bureau-sensitive, and rare species while advancing priorities such as conserving 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030 and engaging underserved communities. Funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, this initiative facilitates on-the-ground conservation actions, targeted research, habitat protection, and public education to address the challenges faced by vulnerable species and ecosystems. Projects must deliver tangible benefits, align with national conservation priorities, and demonstrate public value.
Funding under this program can be used for activities such as species conservation and recovery actions, habitat restoration, inventory and monitoring of species, research into species ecology and threats, and proactive habitat management. Other eligible uses include translocation, propagation, and seed collection efforts to augment species populations, as well as outreach and educational initiatives to enhance public awareness. Proposed projects must align with federal and BLM priorities, emphasize measurable conservation impacts, and address cross-state or national-scale challenges.
