Announcement Type: Notice of Funding Opportunity (this program is accepting applications)
Opportunity: FY25 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management Headquarters (HQ) Rangeland Resource Management
Overview and Eligible Uses: The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Rangeland Management Program has launched a new grant initiative to support the conservation and restoration of public rangelands. This program aims to combat climate change by promoting climate-resilient landscapes through improved land health practices, such as sustainable livestock grazing, invasive species management, and soil conservation. It also seeks to restore legacy disturbances on rangelands through vegetation treatments, grazing management structures, and enhanced soil resource management. By utilizing data-driven and science-based approaches, this program emphasizes adaptive management to ensure sustainable rangeland use, ecological resilience, and long-term environmental health.
Grant funding can be used for activities such as:
Enhancing land health and climate resilience through sustainable grazing practices and targeted invasive species and noxious weed management.
Restoring legacy disturbances, including vegetation restoration treatments and constructing grazing management structures to improve soil stability and rangeland conditions.
Conducting soil resource management and ecological site assessments to reduce erosion and enhance soil stability.
Collecting and analyzing data using consistent and comparable indicators to support adaptive management and legally defensible land management decisions.
Supporting actions related to species recovery, post-fire rehabilitation, and hazardous fuels reduction on rangelands.
This program encourages collaboration with stakeholders and leverages science and technology to ensure effective and sustainable management of public rangelands.
