BLM Nevada Opens $25K for Environmental Quality and Protection

Overview and Eligible Uses: The BLM is looking for partners to advance mitigation measures implemented through core programs such as:
Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) program, which addresses physical safety hazards and contamination posing risks to human health and the environment through remediation and restoration of abandoned hard rock mines.
Orphan Well Program (OWP), which remediates oil and gas wells improperly abandoned and seeks to plug them under state regulations and rules.
Educational outreach about the potential dangers posed to the public and recreationists from AML and orphaned well sites.
The program supports projects funded by BIL and IRA.
Amount: One $25K award is available under this opportunity.
Award Type: Cooperative agreement
Eligible Applicants:
State, Special District, County, Native American tribal, City, or township governments.
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities.
Independent school districts.
Private or Public and State controlled institutions of higher education.
Native American tribal organizations.
Nonprofits.
*Individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible to apply.
