$21M Grant Opportunity Open for Applications

Opportunity: Historic Preservation Fund - African American Civil Rights (National Park Service)
Overview and Eligible Uses: to preserve and protect sites associated with the struggle for equality from the transatlantic slave trade forward. Funds can be used for pre-preservation studies, architectural plans and specifications, historic structure reports, and the repair and rehabilitation of historic properties. Projects must be listed in or eligible for a listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Amount: $75,000 to $750,000 per award, for a total of up to $21,750,000 awarded
Award Type: Competitive grant
Eligible Applicants: States and territories, Indian tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations, local governments, nonprofit organizations
Key Dates: Applications are due November 8, 2022
