USDA Adds $14M to Hispanic-Serving Institutions Grant Opportunity
Eligible applicants: higher education institutions, tribal entities, alaska native corporations. Applications are due: August 29th, 2022.
Note: The funds for this opportunity are not authorized by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. They are authorized under the American Rescue Plan. Opportunity: Hispanic-Serving Institutions Education Grants Program (USDA)
Overview and Eligible Uses: This competitive grants program is intended to promote and strengthen the ability of Hispanic-Serving Institutions to carry out higher education programs in the food and agricultural sciences. Programs aim to attract outstanding students and produce graduates capable of enhancing the Nation's food and agricultural scientific and professional work force.
Amount: Awards between $25,000 and $1,000,000, up to a total of $14M in funds awarded.
Type: Competitive grant
Eligible Applicants: Qualified Centers of Excellence at 1890 Land-grant Universities, 1994 Land-grant Tribal Colleges, Hispanic-serving institutions, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian institutions, and participants in the Resident Instruction Grants Program for Institutions of Higher Education in Insular Areas.
